Bred for the track but never raced, Kennedy was originally purchased in 1994 as an unstarted jumping prospect for her superior movement, big free shoulder, expressive trot, suspension and expansive, ground-covering canter. These conformational qualities allowed her to net many jumper championships on the California A circuit over a four-year show career.
Her big dramatic bascule over fences caused a stir at ringside and allowed her to move easily into the preliminary level jumpers. Impressive blood of 1937 Triple Crown Winner War Admiral (Man O’ War) is brought to the forefront of this Kennedy Road xx daughter.

In 1998, the decision to breed her was undertaken with the plan of returning her to the show ring. That would not happen due to the production of her first hunter prospect foal, when it was apparent that her value was in producing prospects for the show ring and she would remain in the breeding program for the balance of her life. In addition to her superior athleticism, her disposition, temperament and maternal instincts make her a stunning addition to the breeding program.
At the American Hanoverian Society mare inspection in 1998 at Glenwood Farms, the West Coast’s largest Hanoverian inspection site in the 1990’s, Kennedy was named Champion of both the inspection (mares are graded on conformation and in-hand movement) and Mare Performance Test .

Decades-long AHS inspector Barbara Richardson said of the mare, “this is exactly the type of Thoroughbred mare we always hope to see at our inspections” in pinning the mare, who bested a large field of very good warm blood mares. Kennedy ranks second for all AHS ranked Thoroughbred mares tested since 1998. She scored 8's on rideability, impulsion and elasticity, 7.5 on the free jump, and 8 on the riding test.
Kennedy's daughter by the Hanoverian Stallion Freestyle (Frappant/Werther) , Filigree S , was named Champion of the 2004 AHS Mare Performance Test and the quality continues with Filigree’s 2005 filly, Supermodel (Sir Caletto x Filigree S), who was named Champion filly at the 2005 AHS Foal Inspection and again at the 2008 AHS Mare Inspection.

Miss Ellie xx
16.2 hh Bay Mare
Breeder: Susan & Rob McGraith, USA

This lovely cal-bred AHS approved Thoroughbred mare joined the Silverhorne breeding program when she was bred to Sir Caletto by a client who was also a competitor at the Regular Working Hunter level.
![]() |
The mare was given top scores for her conformation and movement and she is elegant with a gorgeous topline. The crosses with Sir Caletto are proving to be quite solid.
Her 2006 filly, St. Croix sold as a hunter prospect into a California based show barn in late 2009. Ellie was an upper level hunter whose show career ended with her being declared in foal and she is now a full time broodmare. Ellie joined a new Hanoverian breeding program in Texas where she now lives with her 2009 colt by Sir Caletto, Sir Elliot.

This classically typey and modern mare is the result of crossing top Thoroughbred motherlines (Kennedy xx) with a strong German warmblood line (Frappant/Werther).

Filligree was bred exclusively to extend the life of the Kennedy Road xx motherline in the breeding program, a decision that was strongly supported by former German Hanoverian breeding director Dr. Joachim Wilkens upon examining three generations of the damline at the 2005 Silverhorne AHS inspection.
This mare, while performance tested in order to establish her value as a breeder, will remain in the breeding program, and maintain this top dam line blood.
Dr. Joachim Wilkens, director of the Hannnoverer Verband recommended that by international breeding standards, keeping this mare and her mother in the breeding program was advisable for the longevity of Silverhorne’s breeding program.

Filligree’s position in the program was secured when she was named Champion at her mare inspection, garnering 8’s on her canter and rideability, 8’s on jumping technique and 9’s on jumping ability for a final jumping score of 8.5 at her 2005 AHS Mare Performance Test with a final score of 7.94 Filligree is beautifully conformed (8’s on head and saddle position) and is very refined and elegant, causing her to be an exceptional cross with Sir Caletto, complimenting the significant degree of Thoroughbred blood he carries through Pik As xx blood.
We are fairly convinced that the dam line strength from Kennedy xx is evident through this daughter, by the success of her crosses with Sir Caletto. She seems to possess the same ability to pass it on as her 2005 Sir Caletto daughter, Super Model S, was named Champion Filly at the Silverhorne summer inspection. An exquisite, very glamorous and leggy filly, the dark bay foal impressed when she trotted by her mother’s side for AHS inspectors.

A top Thoroughbred mother line and an excellent addition to the breeding program, Silverado Summer xx joined the program solely for the purpose of crossing with Sir Caletto. Originally sold at Keeneland for $120k, she is typey and elegant, lending her lovely conformation and good disposition to her foals.

The cross produces offspring that strongly resemble a pleasing mix from both stallion and mare in that the babies still retain the look of and elegance of the Thoroughbred but enjoy more substance and stature resulting in great conformation, suspension and movement suitable for the hunter ring. She has produced two Champion AHS Inspection foals, 2008 filly Shades of Paris and 2009 colt Sticky Fingers. After completing her inspection and mare performance test, she is accepted into the AHS registry and her foals are branded and fully papered Hanoverian. Summer earned a solid 7.0 on her MPT and on her inspection with 8’s for typiness and scored a 9 for her beautiful face and head.
