Susie with Kongo
Kongo (1997- Susie x Kalypso) Competing on the "A" Hunter Circuit in California
MSB Susie (Servus) shares the same parentage as Spartan, being the only full-blood, living sister to the stallion who is now sadly deceased but whose blood lives on very successfully both in Germany and here in California through the mare Susie and her daughers.

Spartan trotSpartan’s Story: Spartan jumped to Grand Prix level in the USA under Sasha Himmelmeyer and his bay son, Stakkato(video) (more_info), under Eva Marie Bittner, was awarded the title to "16th Hanoverian Stallion of the Year” according to the cover announcement of the Hannoveraner Verband_Newsletter/2007. Before Stakkato, there were fifteen other Hanoverian Stallions of the Year. He is the first S-line stallion to hold the coveted position in the history of award.

Born in 1982, Susie’s brother, a grey colt, is bought as a stallion prospect.  He  becomes licensed, is named  Spartan, successfully completes his stallion testing and disappears across the ocean to American to compete to Grand Prix level.  In 1992 he returns to Germany.  On the second Hanoverian private stallion show in Verden, Andreas Mundt presents him.  He at once has him sold with the caveat that he could buy the stallion back when retired from performance.  Instead, Spartan becomes the eye-catcher of the Verden show.  Silver coat, big, open eye, powerful push-off, then the combination of two important bloodlines (Senator & Goldfisch II), which in spite of high popularity steadily become rarities.

Spartan is stallion performance tested in Adelheidsdorf and earns a remarkable score of 122.31 (10th/56 stallions). He sires Stakkato, the Federal Bundeschampionate Jumping Champion. Stakkato  becomes impressive from his stature and his outline, and he also proves himself as a most important producer. His breed value jumping index lies at an exorbitant 169 points. For the uninitiated, the breed value index is a well established, decades long effort by the warmblood registries for testing and evaluating mares and stallion sons for heritability traits in jump, movement and conformation. The German Hanoverian registry excels at the annual documentation under the direction of Dr. Ludwig Christmann and produces the breeders Bible, The Breed Value Index.

In 2008, 188  Stakkato descendants are registered as competition horses, including 21 which compete at the S-level in Europe. In stallion or mare performance test nobody is surprised any longer, when Stakkato descendants receive a 10 for jumping. Style (169) and ability (159) of tested mares show that the security of Stakkato’s heredity with respect to jumping is excellent as is  rideability.

793 descendants are registered in Hannover, including 107 broodmares (26 state’s premium mares) and 17 sons are liscensed with 11 entered into the Stallion Book I. Forty-five (45) Stakkato foals and fourteen (14) riding horses have been sold through Verden’s auction program as of 2007 with number steadily climbing. This same “blood” is found in 60% of the breedstock in Silverhorne’s program through Susie as well as daughters Princess Papaya, Palestrina and Good Girl.  Another Spartan daughter, EM Sienna (Spartan/Argentinus), was imported and added to increase this most dependable of jumping bloodlines.

Susie came into the breeding program in 1998 via the Glenwood Auction sales effort. The mare has delivered consistently athletic offspring that have succeeded regularly both in sales, re-sales and competition. They are loaded with suspension, elasticity and scope and 3 very rideable gates.

Offspring Hallmarks: big, free shoulders,  ground-covering gaits and noteworthy round bascules backed by impressive suspension and corresponding scopiness.  According to German showjumping records, Susie's dam Gottilde has been called one of the best show jumper-producing mares of all time. Her pedigree brings two famous jumper lines into play, Gotthard and Servus. The Gotthard G-line is well documented and the Servus blood is enjoying a special resurgence of interest in Germany thanks to Stakkato, and is already recognized as one of Germany’s most prepotent jumper lines, earning an astonishing jumping point index of 169 points and his offspring are in great demand.  Silverhorne was well advised back in 1997 by a knowledgeable German to add this mare to the breeding program.

SiennaAn Elite Spartan/Argentinus/Trapper daughter scored a 7.83 on her mare performance test (9 for jump). Imported by Silverhorne from Germany, her sire Spartan is best known for producing Stakkato (owned by the State Stud Celle), the German Bundeschampionate in 1999 under Eva Marie Bittner.

Dark Angel
SC's Dark Angel (2004-Sir Caletto x EM Sienna)

On equal importance is the Argentinus (called a phenomenal foundation sire of the Hanoverian breed) by Argentan (video) which shows on the bottom side of the pedigree. Argentinus (video) shows a breed value index (heritability traits) of 133 for show jumping, 133 for technique and 138 for scope.
Argentan’s main feature was siring true to type mares which is certainly evident with Sienna. Argentinus has presented dressage and jumping horses and Schochemohle’s PSI auction who changed owners for six figure sums on several occasions as well as at Vechta auctions. One son, A Jungle Prince was the 1993 Federal German Dressage Horse Championship winner at Mannheim. Isabelle Werth/dressage and marcus Ehning/showjumping both show his offspring.

This mare became eligible for Germany’s Ratje-Niebuhr-Schau, a once every 6 year event for Elite mares only. This major Hanoverian breedshow featured over 250 mares, 230 of a dressage pedigree while but 20 were jumpers. Sienna excelled in the free jumping event-her obvious eye and technique in jumping was noticed by Judge Ludger Beerbaum. She was imported by Silverhorne and because she had achieved Elite status, she was and remains fully committed to the breeding program because of her jumping style, technique and scope.

16.2 hh Bay Mare
Graf Top II/Servus/Gotthard/Steinpilz xx
Breeder: Silverhorne Sporthorse, USA

Good GirlBred By Silverhorne exclusively for the breeding program, this Main Studbook mare was easily started under saddle thanks in part of her good character, achieving high marks at her inspection

(7.16 overall) Good Girl possesses a sterling disposition and very good character, a tremendous aptitude for jumping, enjoying it thoroughly and without hesitation, a super bascule with excellent technique and now this young mare has produced several super offspring with Sir Caletto. Good Girl’s  sire, the 1997 stallion Graf Top II, (bred by Alfred Broennemann/Germany), was 100-Day Tested in Adelheidsdorf back in 2000 and imported to the US by Glenwood Farms.  Two very interesting points in this stallion’s pedigree; the grandmother of Graf Top II (Geri) and the mother of Spartan (Gottilde) are full sisters.

Good Girl filly
Social Butterfly (2007-Sir Caletto x Good Girl)

Good Girl’s pedigree is a power pack of jump as she is double bred Servus, in that he appears  on both the top  and bottom side of the pedigree. The dam of Graf Top II, SPS Capries, where the Calypso blood (Cor de la Bryere) enters into the pedigree, is also the full sister to the mare Candy, of the Celle stallion Laptop.  As quoted in The Hanoverian, published by the Verband Hannoverscher Warmblutzuchter c.V. Germany, “In October 1995 a State Stud sire from Celle made his debut in Verden’s licensing ring…in his first vintage Graf Grannus (video) delivered four sons, three were licensed and one earned the victor’s crown.  The debutant was Graf Grannus.  Graf Top II’s full brother, Graf Top I (video) stands at the State Stud in Celle.” He is producing with great regularity a high number of jumpers for the Elite Hanoverian auctions in Germany.

Prinz Gaylord/Servus/Gotthard/Steinpilz xx
Breeder: Silverhorne Sporthorse, USA

PalestrinaBred by Silverhorne to ensure that the Servus/Prinz Gaylord blood would extend well into the future, allowing us to continue to access exclusive jumping bloodlines she is yet another significant addition to the breeding program.

Sylvia
Sylvia (2003- Palestrina x Sir Caletto)

The Servus blood is very desireable for any well rounded jumper breeding program and Palestrina is no exception.

Full brothers Puccini and Paganini have both achieved high level jumping status and this mare certainly lends her sire’s jump to the offspring crossed with Sir Caletto.

Palestrina remains a key  mares in the Silverhorne breeding program. She is light bay with a beautiful white heart on her forehead. At her AHS Inspection 2002, the inspection team made certain that "breeders take note as this is exactly the type of sporthorse/jumper breeding that is most desirable internationally." Her 2003 daughter with Sir Caletto, Sylvia, achieved 9’s on her freejump at her mare performance test.

Princess Papaya, extends the Servus blood as one of the programs coveted  Susie daughters by Prinz Gaylord. She was added to the breeding program after being discoveredat the Desert Hits Circuit A show and when retired  from her career as an open jumper under the tutelage of California trainer Chris Borba.  Papaya has proven to be a superior cross with Sir Caletto since joining the mare band in 2003.  Her offspring exhibit a naturally pleasing hunter frame, appropriate bone substance and movement.

15.3 hh Gray Mare
Prinz Gaylord/Wallenstein/Winnetou/Pik Konig
Breeder: Silverhorne Sporthorse, USA

Phoebe

Princess Phoebe, a Prinz Gaylord daughter out of Winter Sea Breeze (ISR/Oldenburg) was awarded Premium status as a foal by Oldenburg/ISR and has produced 5 foals, all premiums. Upon reaching maturity at age 3, as a broodmare, she was inspected and was named High Score mare at her ISR Inspection with an overall score of 8 with subsets of 8’s for conformation, type and movement in 2002.

In 2009 she was upgraded when she was accepted into the Hanoverian book with a super Sir Caletto at her side. The Prinz Gaylord daughter stands just 15.3 hh and with a lovely flat trot and a lot of natural suspension, she is very complementary to Sir Caletto.

Her foals are elegant and easily qualify as hunter prospects, all being having been named Premium  and achieved Reserve or Championships at each of their respective inspections.  Phoebe’s dam, Winter Sea Breeze was one of Silverhorne’s first warmblood competition horses and was shown successfully and added into the breeding program, crossing well with the top jumper stallion Prinz Gaylord. Fight Club was sold as a children's hunter and Sarah Jessica is now part of Pat Parelli's program.
