2011 AHS Inspection at Silverhorne

2011 AHS Mare Inspection Results
October 22, 2011

Susie ThreeSusie Three named 2011 AHS Inspection Champion

Good news on the inspection front for 2011; all eight mares tested were bred by Barb Gualco of Silverhorne. Susie Three (Servus x Sir Caletto) was named Champion mare after the performance test with a smokin' score of 8.36, high by any registry standard, with 8/8.5 for her trot and canter u/s and a 8.5/9 on her free jump for technique and ability. Trained and piloted by Silverhorne's own Lisa Dumper, the mare peaked perfectly on test day thanks to Lisa's diligence and preparation. While the mare has brilliant jumping bloodlines, her high rideability quotient makes her a potential candidate for the dressage ring.

Sylvia, another well prepared mare by Silverhorne's own Horse Development Manager Chris Cook and again piloted by Lisa Dumper for the inspection, showed beautifully, receiving an 8 for her canter u/s with 8/9 on freejump technique and ability. Sylvia is Sir Caletto/Prinz Gaylord/Servus and is a direct blood relation to German Grand Prix rider Eva Marie Bittner's stallion Staccato. Sylvia will go onto the jumper ring now that her testing is completed.

Sharlotte York was named non-Hanoverian Champion Mare (8 for her canter u/s) and Scarlett O'Hara, her full blooded sister (Sir Caletto x Prinz Gaylord) were also were inspected and mare performance tested, originally registered with the ISR and now accepted into the AHS stud book. Scarlett (8.5 on freejump technique & ability) was sold to a show barn the day after her test to buyers who had purchased another Sir Caletto earlier in the year and flew in from out of state to watch the inspection. Congratulations to Texas trainer Barbara Bryan on her client's purchase of Scarlett!

Three mares bred by Silverhorne received Elite Candidate status including a very nice Diamond Hit daughter out of our own EM Sayonara named Diamond Lily. She's out of an Elite Singular Joter mother who was overall Champion mare at her Glenwood inspection, she herself was inspection champion at Starr Vaughn in 2007 with 8/9 for impulsion and elasticity and is owned by Rachel Jessop of Montana, who rode the mare at the inspection; EMC Sophia Loren (out of the same Singular Joter mare as Diamond Lilly) also received a 9 for technique on her freejump and her Elite Candidate status. Sophia was named the Sallie B. Wheeler Hunter Breeding Champion at Del Mar as a two year and will next be prepared for the hunter ring. St. Pauli Girl, owned by Don Jessop of Montana, also received her Elite Candidate status with a 10 for ability in the freejump and was named overall Champion Mare at the Silverhorne Inspection.

Not to be overlooked, the final mare tested was SC Sahara (Sir Caletto/Kalypso/Kronenkranich XX) a real peach of a mare who received straight 8's on her gaits u/s as well as for her technique and ability in the freejump. 4/10's of a point kept her from Elite Status. Sahara is starting her over fence career and has the potential to make a really lovely medal or eq. ride.
