EM Prettee Woman

Prettee Woman

Elite Mare Prettee Woman was purchased in utero with her dam, EM Dori. She is the product of a very successful breeding program established by Glenwood Farms where both Diamont and Pointmaker stood at stud.

She had a very successful career, winning every time she was shown in sporthorse in-hand classes. She has, like her mother, a very winning disposition, making her a delight to have in the breeding program.  Her foals with Sir Caletto are elegant, with big ground covering trots and canters, coupled with beautiful conformation.  Two of her foals, Severus in 2004 and Sephora in 2006 were inspection champions. Prettee Woman was originally started under saddle with the intention of selling her as a hunter prospect, being bred the first time to achieve Elite Mare status.  However, her value as a broodmare was established when she produced her first foal and she is a super producer of hunter types. She will stay in the breeding program and is the daughter of one of our Foundation Mares, EM Dori. Her sire is Pointmaker, known more for dressage via his sire, Pik Bube, which also brings in tremendous, well established,  jumping bloodlines and athleticism. At her 2002 AHS inspection she scored 9's on extravagant trot.

Her breed show career was successful, scoring 9's on her trot at the 2000 West Coast Sport Horse Classic in-hand classes, 8's on her conformation, 8.5 on her walk and 8.5 on general impression for a total  score of 85%.

That score assured her place as the High Scoring Hanoverian and winner of the Hanoverian Perpetual Trophy. She won the honor for a second time at the Sacramento Breeder's Challenge in 2001 and is the only mare to win the trophy following in the footsteps of her mother, EM Dori, who won the Perpetual Trophy at the same show in 1997, the only mother/daughter combination to do so in the history of the award. Prettee Woman placed 3rd nationally in the USDF Dressage Sport Horse HOY as a yearling filly. The following year she was named USDF HOY 2nd Place for 2 year old fillies in 2001. Half sister Funny Girl was HOY 1st place for yearling fillies in 2001.

In June, 2001 at the Pacific Event Center Breed show she won her big filly class, the two-year-old filly dressage breed in-hand class, the Cosequin/USDF Filly Championship class (series qualifier) and the PEC California Gold for two-year olds.  Prettee Woman also was part of the Produce of Dam winning family along with her half sister (Funny Girl) by Freestyle at the PEC and  Sacramento Breeder's Challenge in Santa Rosa.In 2002 she was named USDF Cosequin Regional Series Champion.

EM Dori

Elite Mare Dori was purchased from Glenwood Farms exclusively for the breeding program in September, 1998 and she has consistently produced top quality foals for the breeding program. Dori is a big bodied, elegant bay mare with a super disposition.  The crosses to Sir Caletto have produced lovely hunter types, Sabrina, Spider Sabich and Southern Latitude is a short list of examples.

A son, Draco Malfoy, out of a Donnerhall son Domiro was our first indicator foal that she could produce top hunter prospects.Draco, in 2004, stood on the line as a two-year old both in Arizona and in Southern California and was named Best Young Horse 10/10 times out, earning the coveted USEF National HOY 3rd place in hunter breeding. Draco sold into nationally ranked hunter rider John French’s training program.

EM Dori achieved Elite Mare status based on her 1997 mare performance test and after giving birth to a lovely Pointmaker daughter, Prettee Woman, who also achieved Elite Mare status.  Both mother and daughter went on to win the High Point Hanoverian Award and the coveted AHS sponsored Perpetual Trophy at the West Coast Sporthorse Classic in 1994, the only mother/daughter team to achieve such recognition.  Dori was named 2003 California Dressage Society Mature Mare Champion and is the dam of two USDF  HOYs, EM Prettee Woman & EMC Funny Girl.  Prettee Woman was named 2002 AHS Young Filly Sporthorse Breed Champion.

Dori is by the Elite Hanoverian sire Diamont, he himself the son of St. Pr mare dam, Babette.  Dori’s mother was the much revered Tehraane, a Trapper/Cid (Cid’s breeder is the German family Crome-Sperling, still very active breeders) mother who boasts many generations of St. Pr. Mares in the pedigree. Diamont produced over 150 offspring that competed up to 4th level dressage  and some well beyond while producing a fair number of  hunter prospects over his 18 year breeding career.  He was the first Hanoverian stud of significance brought into the USA from Germany for competition and breeding by Judith Williams Ehlers.  The offspring have exceedingly good dispositions and a notablely great work ethic.  Her foals by Sir Caletto  are very typey and elegant with terrific swing, elasticity and impulsion. Type and movement are guaranteed by the presence of Trapper through Dori's dam Tehraane, who produced offspring with extravagant movement that were also very sought after for competition.
